Position Description
Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication.
- Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology
• Expected to meet certain state licensing requirements
• Typically reports to a manager or director
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Part Time -Day Shift – 40 Hours Per Pay Period
Team Highlights
We are a dynamic SLP department in a Level 2 Trauma Center and Stroke Certified hospital with a varied patient population, including general medical, neurological, trauma, trach/vent and critical care. We have an established and well-respected FEES and MBS/VFSS program. Our SLP team strives to implement evidence-based practice and stay up to date with current research. We are a collaborative department with opportunities for mentorship and continued growth, including for both new graduates (CFs) as well as seasoned SLPs wanting to transition to the medical setting.
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Pathology required
- Certification with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) required OR will obtain upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year
- Current State of Idaho Speech Language Pathologist Licensure required OR temporary SLP Provisional Permit
- Minimum of 1-year experience with adult and or pediatric neurologically impaired patient population preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
