Qualifications: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.

Overview: Full-time Speech Language Pathology (SLP) position. SLP will provide speech therapy services to identified students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals; provide services to students with specialized needs; perform a variety of duties in support of student case management services; and perform a variety of duties related to the assigned area of responsibility. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students, families, and school/community professionals to best support students.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide student speech therapy services according to Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and treatment plan.
  • Assessment of student speech and language skills.
  • Participate in the multi-disciplinary team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Response to Instruction (RTI) plans.
  • Confer with teachers and parents regarding student progress.
  • Communicates with staff and families in the development of oral and functional communication skills
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information
  • Assist staff through consultation, training, and individual and group activities.
  • Support Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication training and implementation to students, teachers, and parents.
  • Document student progress toward IEP goals and perform a variety of clerical support duties such as maintaining objectives, preparing charts, records, graphs, or other means of documentation.
  • Complete Medicaid billing documentation and weekly claims.
  • Consult with and advise educators and medical staff on speech or hearing topics such as communication strategies and speech and language stimulation.
  • Prepare therapy materials and/or equipment for use in the classroom and therapy activities.
  • Complete annual hearing screenings following state guidelines.
  • Adapt or modify instructional materials and/or equipment for teacher use in the classroom, as determined by students’ needs and abilities.
  • Maintain and manage Special Education compliance, including IEP development, implementation, and Case Conference procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Reports to: Director of Special Education and Building Principal.
