Miriam Dant is the owner and president of Dant Advocacy, Inc., a government affairs and procurement services firm that she founded in 2006. She has been listed in Best Lawyers®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, since 2007, including being named Indianapolis Lawyer of the Year for Government Relations in 2016 and again in 2018.
Miriam worked as a litigator at the law firm of Baker & Daniels and practiced in the firm’s government affairs group, becoming a partner in 1998 and representing clients at the Statehouse. She handled all areas of state and municipal government on issues including environmental regulation and policy, utilities and energy, taxes, transportation, economic development, general business issues and government procurement. Miriam served from 1993 to 1997 as Gov. Evan Bayh’s adviser on environmental and energy issues. Prior to that, she served as Counsel to the Indiana Secretary of State and as Indiana securities commissioner under Secretary of State Joe Hogsett.
Miriam earned her law degree from the University of Illinois and her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University (Bloomington).
