Dave Cravotta, MS, CCC-SLP, graduated from the University of Evansville with an undergraduate degree in secondary education and was an English teacher for one year. During the school year Dave heard about speech pathology and elected to change career courses. He graduated from Purdue with a master’s and completed a medical externship at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana where Dave also completed his clinical fellowship and worked for an additional year. In 2010, Dave began working at Hendricks Regional Health, a county hospital in Danville, Indiana, and was named the lead of the speech therapy department in 2019. After serving as lead for more than four years, Dave stepped away from management to focus on patient care and returned to a role as a staff therapist. In addition to his duties as a staff speech-language-pathologist, Dave also sits on the hospital’s Ethics Committee and serves on the committee for our nurse residency program, an initiative to help orient nurses new to hospital bedside care. In total, Dave has worked in Indiana hospitals for 17 years and is very excited about the prospect of bringing together and collaborating with other Indiana healthcare providers.
