Health and Safety for ISHA’s 2022 Convention

The 2022 Convention at Embassy Suites by Hilton Plainfield Indianapolis Airport will be held from April 7-April 9. We are excited to welcome you all. ISHA and Embassy Suites have partnered to provide everyone a healthy, informative, and exciting convention. ISHA has made the decision that our convention will be an in-person event. There will not be a hybrid convention with a virtual option. To attend the convention, you will need to attend in person. We are also asking everyone to do their part to make this the best convention yet. Please see below for our health and safety guidelines.

Vaccinations
ISHA is encouraging all of its participants to be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means two weeks post having received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna. The CDC now recommends booster shots at 5 months after the completion of the primary series of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 12 and older.

Vaccines will not be a requirement for attendance to the Convention.

Mask Requirement
ISHA understands that masks are no longer a requirement for Indiana. However, attendees, vendors, and staff will be required to wear masks at all times, except when actively eating or drinking. (As in any facility, you can temporarily pull your mask down to take a quick drink as long as you are seated.)

Please bring your mask and be prepared to wear it the entire time you are participating. We will have some CDC-approved surgical masks available on-site if you forget or lose your mask.

Presenters may remove their masks when presenting, if they are comfortable doing so. Presenters must remain six feet away from attendees if they are not wearing masks. Presenters will put on a mask any time they are not speaking and/or walking through the audience.

Cleaning and Sanitation
Rooms will be given a light cleaning after each session. Presenters will follow instructions for cleaning the head table in the room after their session; they will use provided cleaning materials. Our AV team will clean shared equipment between sessions. Deeper cleaning will take place overnight.

Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the Convention, and restrooms are readily available, so you may wash your hands, as needed.

Physical Distancing
We have intentionally reduced contact points where possible and have created extra space in certain areas to avoid crowding and improve traffic flow.

For checking into the Convention to get event materials, we will have increased staff to get everyone checked in quickly to avoid crowds.We encourage all attendees to maintain physical distance between each other at all times.

Eating and Drinking
Food and drink may only be consumed while stationary. This means that you can bring your food and drinks to a session room and consume it once seated. You can also find a spot that is socially distanced to eat and drink while standing still.

Refund Policy
To discourage attendees from attending while ill, we are offering a refund policy. If you are unwell, please refrain from attending the convention. We will provide a full refund, upon request.

A Few Reminders and Tips

    Choose a mask that

    • is made of at least 2 layers of breathable fabric or hospital-grade material;
    • fully covers the nose, nostrils, and mouth;
    • fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; and
    • has a nose wire to prevent air from leaking out the top.

Read more about CDC mask recommendations and guidelines.
“Physical distancing” means maintaining at least 6 feet from another person who is not from your household or work/travel group.

We know how excited you are to see friends or colleagues again, but please try to minimize handshaking, hugging, or other close person-to-person contact.

Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.
