The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa is seeking a full-time instructional-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction, Associate Professor of Instruction, or Professor of Instruction to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, with the potential to engage in clinical supervision and/or administrative responsibilities depending on the candidate’s strengths and interests. We are looking for a versatile educator to join our team and contribute to the academic and clinical development of our students. This is an instructional-track (non-tenure) faculty position with opportunities for promotion if criteria are met (Associate Professor of Instruction, Professor of Instruction). The position is renewable in one-year increments for the first three years, and renewable thereafter in three- or five-year increments (depending on rank).
Responsibilities
- Teach a range of undergraduate and/or graduate courses, potentially including:
- Language Disorders (Birth to 18 Years)
- Anatomy and Physiology of Speech
- Basic Neuroscience for Communication Disorders
- Introduction to Voice Disorders
- Neurological and Structural Disorders of Swallowing
- Option to provide clinical supervision for graduate students in our on-campus clinic.
- Option to assist with the coordination and administration of the undergraduate program, including curriculum development and student advising.
