Tricia JohnsonPatricia (Tricia) Johnson, MA, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist in central Indiana who has worked full-time in the public school setting for the past 14 years and part-time with Indiana First Steps for six years. Patricia completed her undergraduate and graduate coursework in speech pathology at Ball State University and recently finished graduate coursework at the University of Indianapolis to obtain her Director of Exceptional Learners licensure. Her professional passions include working in urban settings with multicultural families, supporting neurodiverse students, and providing early intervention therapy. However, her greatest passion lies in mentorship as she has volunteered to mentor newly hired special education colleagues and supervised five clinical fellows and five graduate clinicians from in-state and out-of-state universities throughout her career. Patricia is a two-time AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate with Brightlane Learning where she developed and led summer enrichment programs for students living in homeless shelters. She is also a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship recipient where she had the opportunity to complete a summer Spanish immersion program and intern with a local speech-language pathologist in Costa Rica. Outside of work, Patricia enjoys volunteering, traveling and spending time with her husband and daughter.
