Dear Members, Student Affiliates, and Associates of ISHA,
It’s that time of year again—Annual Convention is right around the corner! Each year, a Silent Auction takes place in order to raise funds for student scholarships. ISHA will host its third Silent Auction from April 4-5.
The past two years, our Silent Auctions have raised over $1,300, all of which went directly to our scholarship funds. The auction ensures sufficient funds are available to award scholarships to very deserving students of speech-language pathology and audiology and also provides attendees with a “fun” event.
This year ISHA has designated a special spot to accommodate a larger selection of Silent Auction items and allow attendees more opportunities to visit and bid. Popular items the past 2 years have included designer bags, college “swag” baskets, gift cards, and spa gift sets.
ISHA is currently accepting donations for Silent Auction items. If you are interested in donating a gift set or basket or have contact information for a business/organization that might be interested, please contact me for further information. ISHA will also accept monetary donations for the scholarship fund, as well.
With the continually rising costs of education, it is important as ever to provide funds for students in the state of Indiana on their educational path to becoming future audiologists and speech-language pathologists and the future of ISHA.
Best regards,
Carolyn Wade, M.S., CCC-SLP
Secretary of ISHA

Meredith received her Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and was part of the first graduating class from St. Mary’s Master’s Program for Speech-Language Pathology in 2017. Meredith enjoys working at Geist Elementary where she services K-4th grade on her caseload. She stated that her favorite population is “The little ones in grades K-1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder.” Meredith has been a member of the Indiana Speech-Language Hearing Association since graduating in 2017. Her favorite benefit of being an ISHA member: “I love getting all the emails with information about things going on in the state that influences our profession.”
Thank you, Meredith, for being an ISHA Member!
Hi everyone! My name is Mickayla Wenzel, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Indianapolis. The questionnaire should take about 10 minutes to complete. Also, upon completion, you can enter your name into a drawing for one of four $25 gift cards! Thank you in advance :)

Once your plans to attend are confirmed:
It is imperative that you take that extra moment to send a personal invitation to your state legislators. When contacting legislators, contact both State Senator and State Representative but NOT Congressional legislators. Be sure to let them know that you will be attending and look forward to meeting with them. ISHA has sent an invitation to all of the state legislators but a personal invitation from a constituent is always more effective in getting legislators to attend. If your legislator cannot attend the luncheon, offer to meet with them in the morning or following the luncheon on that day. The personal invitation and contact are ESSENTIAL!!
