Congratulations to Françoise Brosseau-Lapré - ISHA's September Member of the Month!
Françoise received her Bachelor’s degree from McGill University, in Psychology (there are no undergraduate SLHS degrees in Canada) in 2000, graduated from there with her Master’s in 2002, then pursued her PhD. Françoise is an Assistant Professor of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. Her favorite population/disorder to treat is “working with preschoolers with speech sound disorders. I am particularly interested in understanding how children with and without speech sound disorders perceive speech produced by others and by themselves, and how their ability to detect speech errors impacts their ability to produce speech accurately.” Françoise has been a member of the Indiana Speech-Language Hearing Association since 2013. She says, “I love research! I also enjoy teaching both students in my lab and future SLP students in the classroom. “
Françoise’s favorite benefit of being an ISHA member: “I appreciate ISHA’s commitment to advocacy and informing members of legislative action that can impact our profession.” She would encourage other professionals in the state to join ISHA, stating “There is strength in numbers! As the membership of the association grows, the better we can advocate for individuals with communication disorders and for our profession.”Thank you Françoise for being an ISHA Member!
