Congratulations to Naomi Gurevich, ISHAs August Member of the Month!
She is also the creator of our new logo!
Naomi Gurevich, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor of CSD at Purdue University Fort Wayne. She works primarily with adult neurogenic clinical populations and has research interests in linguistics and language disorders. Her field experience as an SLP was in healthcare.
Naomi has lived in 6 countries, has a fraternal twin sister who is an artist, and English is her third language. Naomi took the “scenic route” to the field of CSD and has four graduate degrees (MA in teaching, MA in linguistics, clinical MA in SLP, and a PhD in theoretical phonology). In addition to working as a TA, Naomi paid her way through graduate schools by building websites.
She has always been infatuated with logos and prefers simple designs with high contrast but meaningful colors. The logo she submitted for ISHA implements the Indiana state flag colors, and a clean, simple shape that would stand out at any size, including as a web-browser bookmark icon (favicon). Naomi joined ISHA in 2018 and could not think of a better welcome to the association. She is thankful to all those who participated in selecting the logo.
Thank you Naomi for being an ISHA Member!
