ISHA 2013 Annual Convention:
Post Convention News
The convention team is already busy at work along with Central Office staff analyzing your convention and speaker evaluations!
Preliminary results are positive for number and quality of speakers, number of CEU’s granted, variety of food items, classroom seating, keynote and awards luncheon speakers, Twilight and Research to Practice sessions and the new ISHA App and ISHA store!!
We have listened to your concerns also, with parking/safety being one of your big concerns. Central Office staff will be meeting with the Marriott staff to address this issue along with a few other concerns with this venue. This is a new venue for us so we want to make sure to provide the best possible convention for all.
Attendance at convention this year was 708; with increased numbers of students and audiologists present. We especially want to thank the Butler students who served by volunteering in registration area. ISHA loves Fred Risinger, our photographer. Watch the website for the following to be posted soon: podcasts of a few select speakers at convention, ISHA store, pictorial review of convention and the music video created by Purdue students.
Honors of the Association were awarded to Jeannette Leonard for over 35 years of service as an educator, presenter, researcher, supervisor, mentor and administrator. Pat Basa, owner of Learning Treasures in Bloomington, was recognized as a Friend of ISHA for her consistent support of ISHA for 20 years.
There will be a call for papers again in 2014. A special thanks goes out to the members who presented and shared about their programs and research projects at convention. We are an association that is proud of the accomplishments of our members. Please help us continue to learn from each other.
