Seeking PAC Donations

    Emergency Appeal for PAC Donations

As most of you know, every year ISHA raises money for ISHA-PAC (Political Action Committee) so that ISHA can participate in the political process to support  Indiana State Senators and Representatives who author or support legislation that benefits our professions or the patients/clients we serve. Supporting legislators who support us is just common sense: in our everyday life, we do the same for our friends. If we do not participate in the political process, we allow our professions to fade from view or worse. As the old maxim puts it, “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu”.

We have a greater need for PAC funds right now due to the anticipated extraordinarily busy legislative session in 2021. At this time ISHA plans to seek adoption of the following:

    1. The ASLP Compact, an interstate compact that will make providing services across state lines easier.
    2. Clarification that SLPs and AUDs may use telehealth.
    3. Streamlining of support personnel and other standards of practice.

In addition, we anticipate that there will be an effort to extend Emergency Permits and to create a license for undergraduates independent of SLP supervision, neither of which ISHA supports in principle.

Whether you have previously given to ISHA-PAC this year or not, please dig deep to support these political efforts. The need has never been greater, and we are only as strong as our collective efforts allow us to be.

Please mail checks made out to ISHA-PAC and mail to this address by September 1:
